Qlyp uses AI to help you identify items and understand their likely resale value. This page explains what that means and its limits.
How identification works
When you scan an item, your photo is analyzed by an AI model to recognize what it is and read visible details. AI identification can be wrong or incomplete. You can correct an identification before saving, valuing, or listing an item.
Confidence and unknown items
Qlyp shows how confident it is in a match. When an item cannot be identified confidently — for example, a blurry photo or an unrecognizable object — Qlyp does not calculate or display a value. Instead it asks you to retake the photo or add details. Qlyp will not invent a price for an unknown item.
Estimates, not appraisals
Values, price ranges, and demand indicators are estimates based on available market data (such as comparable listings and completed sales). They are not certified appraisals, offers, or guarantees, and they may differ from what an item actually sells for.
Real data only
Qlyp does not fabricate market data or display placeholder totals as if they were real. Where an estimate is based on limited data, Qlyp tells you and may ask for more detail rather than show a misleading number.
Listing assistance
AI-generated titles and descriptions are drafting aids. You are responsible for reviewing and editing every listing for accuracy before publishing. Qlyp does not guarantee the accuracy of generated copy.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for verifying an item's identity, authenticity, condition, and value, and for your own pricing and selling decisions. Nothing in Qlyp is financial, tax, insurance, or legal advice.
How your data is used
Photos are processed to power your scan and are not used to train AI models or sold. See our Privacy Policy for details.
